These reviews all differ from each other but have similarities. Empire magazine starts with the plot on the left hand side of the image, summarising briefly what the film is based on, roughly outlining what the target audience/reader is yet to experience if they decide to watch the film. In the first paragraph the review states how the film was born, it explains that from part 1 in 2009 Paranormal Activity2 was created, making the film sound very adventurous. The second paragraph then outlines the Director, Cast, and all those involved in the production. This allows the audience to be familiar with the production team and the mind behind the movie, as most of the target audience would have seen the first film they would want to see the second one. As well as other readers of the review who may have seen films directed by Tod Williams may also want to experience Paranormal Activity2. The review then goes on to explain the storyline in more detail of what exactly happens, giving the readers a small taste on the film to gain a better understand of what the film is really about. Then finally at the end the Verdict is given along with a personal opinion.
Screen Rant’s review follows a similar structure but unlike Empire, Screen Rant’s quantity of writing is more. Screen Rants review tends to be more comical as through its content it tries to make jokes about the movie, suggesting that certain aspects of the movie may have more of a comical affect on its viewers rather than a scary one. Not focusing as much on the storyline, screen rant is filled with lots of personal opinions, this may have a more dominant affect on the reader as it may strongly influence their views of the film before even viewing it which may result in them not viewing the film at all. However in terms of mentioning Cast members, etc both Screen R ant and Empire do this in their reviews and they both contain still images taken from the movie. Empires image is at the very top of the page not very large but visible, whereas Screen Rants image is at the right hand side of the page and this image is the film poster.
On the other hand the last review happens to have no images; this review only contains the title of the film in order for readers to identity the film. The 3rd review differs greatly as the layout is different and the content is much more. Overall all reviews give their opinions of the film showing why readers should watch the film or not.
